HARMONET SCORING SUMMARY, Sunshine District Quartet Contest
SPEBSQSA, Inc., Jacksonville, Florida, October 23, 1999
**********************************************************************
* SPECIAL NOTES ON SHOW PACKAGE SCORING *
* *
* This contest included the experimental "Show Package" format for *
* the finals round. Each judge may award up to 40 points for the *
* entire "package" presentation's entertainment value. The "SHOW" *
* row in each finalist quartet score shows the Package score awarded *
* by each category's panel (2 judges per category, 80 points total *
* possible per category, 240 total possible points). The percentage *
* shown under the "SHOW" header is the percentage awarded for Show *
* Package points only. For example, in the first quartet, 69+57+65 *
* =191, and 191/240 = 0.7958, or 79.6%. *
* *
* The TOTL score is the normal contest scores PLUS the Show Package *
* score. The overall percent average is computed by dividing TOTL by *
* 2640 maximum possible points (2400 contest points plus 240 show *
* package points). For example the first quartet TOTL is 2293, so *
* 2293/2640 = 0.8685, or 86.9%. *
* *
* To allow comparison with quartets in other Districts which did not *
* use the Show Package format, The percent average is calculated *
* using the TOTL amount LESS the Show Package scores, PLUS any *
* time penalty points (see next paragraph, below), divided by 2400. *
* So for the first quartet, (2293-191+6)/2400 = 0.8783, or 87.8%. *
* This is the percentage that the quartets will be ranked with in *
* the overall summary listing, even if the Show Package total *
* percentage was higher. *
* *
* The Show Package format scoring rules also have a time penalty of *
* one point per second over the time limit. If a quartet lost points *
* due to a time penalty, these points would be added back into the *
* total when calculating the contest-only percent average. *
